Cupcakes and Causes is a think-tank, of sorts, in which we discuss causes of worldwide concern and eat delicious cupcakes. Join us Tuesday at 6pm in the library. We’ll watch several short youtube videos on anti-americanism and we’ll discuss what makes people both love and hate us around the world. And, of course, we'll eat plenty of amazing cupcakes!

$50 Fugitive Instructions

A member of our faculty/staff is the $50 Fugitive. A clue as to his/her identity will be announced each day this week. If you would like to win a $50 gift card to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts, you'll need to investigate the Humans of New York's IRAN PROJECT http://www.humansofnewyork.com/tagged/iran. In order to win, you must post something THOUGHTFUL about one of their Iran photos on your Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Then, you must approach the suspected fugitive and state, “I want to show you my post about the people of Iran.” Next, you need to show evidence of your post to the suspect, and finally accuse. If you don’t share evidence of your post prior to accusing, the suspect will deny being the fugitive. Everyone go out and investigate http://www.humansofnewyork.com/tagged/iran, and re-Tweet, post and share your thoughts about the PEOPLE OF IRAN this week!

Our Peace Week has begun! Get your peace tee during lunch for $10. Wear it for our Peace Out on Friday, November 20!!!

Peace Out Day Tomorrow

A big shout out to all those who are participating in our peace out tomorrow and a special thank you for all who are going to strike up a conversation about the various refugee crises in the world today. The few facts we shared are just the tip of a giant iceberg. The problems with refugees are very complex. Amnesty would like to invite everyone to our Jamnesty, our annual band competition on Friday, April 24 in the auditorium. The focus of this year’s Jamnesty will be to raise more awareness about refugee crises. We have an amazing video to show you during intermission. Bands prepare and spectators mark your calendars for Jamnesty, April 24. Finally, Mr. Jannke was the fugitive and Miquela Velez was the first to identify him. Peace out everyone and see you on April 24!
